My journey began in college when I founded The Doe, a digital publication dedicated to amplifying marginalized voices through anonymous storytelling. This experience inspired my first book, I'm Just Saying: A Guide to Maintaining Civil Discourse in an Increasingly Divided World (2023), which provides practical tools for navigating challenging conversations.
In both my personal and professional life, I believe that community engagement is vital for creating positive change. In my personal life, I often bring people together for gatherings, acting as a host to foster connection and collaboration. I also volunteer with organizations like Defy Ventures, empowering formerly incarcerated individuals to become entrepreneurs, and support my mother’s non-profit, the Pars Equality Center, which provides resources to Persian-speaking immigrants. By celebrating my Iranian-American heritage, I aim to create a lasting impact and inspire others to give back.

Music has always been a source of inspiration and joy for me. I regularly attend music festivals to immerse myself in new sounds and connect with like-minded individuals - 2024 marked my first year conquering Black Rock City and surviving the beautiful chaos that is Burning Man! I'm also always open to recommendations from friends and family, expanding my musical horizons and supporting emerging artists.
Travel has been another important aspect of my life, offering opportunities to explore different cultures, meet new people, and gain new perspectives. Whether it's attending international music festivals, traveling with my family and friends, or simply visiting new destinations, I've always been drawn to the adventure and excitement of global exploration.
By pursuing these passions, I've cultivated a sense of curiosity, independence, and resilience. Through my experiences, I've learned to appreciate the beauty and diversity of the world and to find joy in unexpected adventures.

Exploring Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy
My interest in the human mind is a passion project driven by a profound desire to understand the human experience. My curiosity has led me to engage in extensive research, volunteer work, and formal study to deepen my knowledge of psychology.
For my book, Moonshot Moments: Ushering in the Next Human Renaissance Through AI, Transhumanism, and Psychedelics, I explored the transformative potential of emerging technologies on human consciousness. This process involved a meticulous analysis of peer-reviewed literature and direct interviews with academic researchers. My dedication to psychology extends beyond intellectual pursuits. Volunteering at the 988 Suicide & Crisis Hotline has given me a unique perspective on the mental health challenges people face. Through this experience, I have developed a foundational understanding of crisis intervention, active listening, and providing support to individuals in distress. This direct service work has been an invaluable complement to my research.
To further formalize my understanding of psychological principles, I enrolled in Berkeley’s psychology post-baccalaureate program. This academic work has strengthened my grasp of research methods and theoretical frameworks, preparing me to approach psychological topics with rigor and precision. Encouraging Empathy Through Storytelling
I have always been deeply moved by the power of stories to bridge divides and foster empathy. This belief is the foundation of my work with Narratives, a non-profit I founded to use storytelling as a therapeutic and empowering tool for marginalized voices. My goal is to create a space where individuals can share their experiences, fostering a deeper sense of connection and understanding within the broader community. To ensure our mission's success, I recruited a talented editor-in-chief to lead our online publication, The Doe, and together we built a team focused on compassionate storytelling.
As a video reporter and documentarian for Narratives, I've had the privilege of capturing and sharing human-interest stories firsthand. Each interview is an act of empathy, a journey into another person's world. I've sat with veterans, listening to their struggles with post-traumatic stress. I’ve spoken with acid attack victims, hearing their narratives of survival and resilience. I’ve documented the stories of Eaton fire victims, who rebuilt their lives after losing everything. These moments of shared humanity demonstrate how a person's vulnerability becomes a testament to their strength. Through these stories, we see ourselves in others and understand that our shared experiences are far more powerful than our differences.
My belief in the power of storytelling to create a more connected world extends to how we communicate with each other. This conviction led me to write my book, I'm Just Saying: A Guide to Maintaining Civil Discourse in an Increasingly Divided World (2023). I saw a growing need for people to engage in more productive conversations, especially when discussing difficult topics. My work on the book was a deeply personal effort to provide practical guidance and strategies for navigating these conversations with empathy and respect. By sharing my insights and research, I aimed to offer a roadmap for moving beyond conflict and toward meaningful dialogue, ultimately helping people build stronger relationships and a more cohesive society.
Ultimately, I believe empathy is the most crucial skill for human progress. We live in an increasingly complex and divided world, where social and political conflicts threaten our ability to coexist. By championing storytelling and civil discourse, I aim to arm people with the tools to listen, understand, and connect with one another. I believe that if we can truly understand each other’s stories, we can begin to heal our societal wounds and build a future rooted in compassion and mutual respect.
Designing Better Products and Websites
My work in digital branding and product design is rooted in a fundamental belief that the best products are built with a deep understanding of human behavior. To that end, I founded and lead a full-service digital agency, Ankord Media. I have the privilege of working with a wide range of clients across numerous industries, from startups to established organizations. In every project, my goal is to create a digital experience that is not only visually compelling but also genuinely intuitive and impactful for the end user.
